Common Frog Species

Frogs can be a very interesting pet to keep, and there are varieties available to please just about anyone. Here is a very brief introduction to some of the most commonly kept frogs today. This is in no way meant as a definitive guide on keeping these animals, but more to give you the basic idea of what's involved with keeping each species.
One thing to remember for ALL amphibians -- these are hands off pets. Amphibian skin is very delicate, and oils from human skin can be damaging to the animal. So look, but don't touch, okay? It's worth it, trust me. See the bottom of this page for more information that you need to know, regardless of which species you choose.
