| Green water algae
I have water algae that kind of showed up over night. I have emptied most of the water out a couple times, I tried removing about 30% of water and putting in fresh every day for about two weeks, I put a couple of cat fish in. But nothing has helped. I even bought some stuff that guaranteed to clear it up in two doses but it didn't help. | |

| Can you tell me what the water parameters are? How long have you had the tank? The catfish are just going to make the situation worse, as they will add to the food source for the plants. And you always change 50% of the water once a week? | |

| The nitrate is just a bit high, but nothing really to worry about. Can you tell me how long you have had the tank? And how often and how much water you change? | |

| Ah, you can try to up the water changes to 50% a week, the change will be great over time. Based on what I can tell, it was just a random algae bloom that is being taken by a relatively new tank. It should go away in due time I would think. | |
