Depends mate wild rats are pests Twisted Evil

but captive bred are sweet but people don't see it that way but the hobby of rats is growing Very Happy

I mean look at snakes that's a huge hobby as there a million of forum dedicated to the topic of serpents

Like Johonny said, it depends on where your talking from. Wild rats, such as the infamous ones in New York City, are MASSIVE (think cat or dog-sized.) And they tend to cause alot of problems in the subways and the trains. But this also means that they are incredibly smart, and one of the most adaptable species of animal I know.

We have wild rats ..they sit under the bird feeders to get any crumbs..last night i went to shut my chucks in & a rat was making off with an egg.

Highly intelligent rodents, rats and mice are natural students who excel at learning and understanding concepts. Rats are considerably smaller than dogs but are at least as capable of thinking about things and figuring them out! And, while rats are much smaller than elephants, they have excellent memories. Although their eyesight is poor, once rats learn a navigation route, they never forget it.
