| Tiger barbs have been given the reputation of being aquarium bullies, as they "fin nip" their way around the aquarium driving the other fish mad. But what fish can put the terrible tiger barb in it's place? but at the same time NOT bullying tiger barb. See it as the other fish giving the tiger barb a friendly warning.
Any ideas _________________

| Typically tiger barbs will only harass other fish when they are not in adequate numbers. The best way to prevent them from nipping other species fins is to keep them in a group of about 6, (like tetras) that way their aggression will be divided amongst the rest of the shoal rather than at a lone long fined target. Although it is still not a great idea to keep them with a target that may be too tempting.. That’s like trying to say no to free chocolate.. |

| There isn't such thing, the stress of being constantly attacked back and forth like that, will be more of a problem than the actual aggression. My best solution another new and bigger tank. _________________ The only difference between the animal and the human, are the letters that they are spelled with. |

| | Nope, just adequate space, and numbers. |

| My barbs dont seem to do any fin nipping, they did at first, to the neons, then they must of got fed-up so stopped. But i think they rule the tank, as they are biggest and all the other fish seem to move out of their way.
But i think their reputation has been blown out of proportion of being evil fin nppers that kill all other fish. _________________
